Since our humble beginning in 2002, the company has grown strength-to-strength. Till date we had worked with more than 20,000 youths. With our expansion into Primary Schools and Corporate World, we are set to see further growth.

Through our interactions with schools and their quest for a more developmental approach to leadership development, we had developed our "Leadership Pinnacle" model. This is an unique in-house researched and developed model using the UDL approach: Unified, Developmental and Layered. The model provides a platform for a whole school holistic and developmental approach to leadership training.

Our Corporate Division had grown into a full pledge company, "Horizons Training". It will extend to the corporate world our unique approach of "Awareness The Fun Way", facilitating meetings through activities and as well as coaching trainings.

2009 is predicted to be a financially challenging year. We believe this is the time for more care, support and growth. The company will continue to focus our effort in research, development and growing our staff to deliver even more effective as well as impactful trainings.

Together, I am confident and certain we can scale the "wall" of 2009.

About The Absorbent Mind

 

THE ABSORBENT MIND PTE LTD

The Absorbent Mind was born in 2002 to deliver leadership training services to schools. Since then we have grown considerably to offer new programmes and business solutions. From our primary focus of working with youths, we now provide corporate training, teacher workshops, facilitation training and Train the Trainer porgrammes.

 


OUR MILESTONES


2004 - Rolled out our first ground breaking Ground Leadership Workshop (iMOVE). The responses from teachers and participants who attended this workshop were overwhelmingly positive and highly encouraging.

 

2005 - We created the first Primary (P3-P6) Leadership Workshop with Geylang Methodist Primary School (over 600 participants) as well as our first Level-Wide Leadership Training with Nanyang Junior College (over 900 participants). We immersed ourselves intensively in these programmes, right from the preparation phase which involved review meetings through the actual execution. However we did not stop there. We diligently and regularly follow-up with teachers in-charge to examine the impact of the training and the training outcome, including gathering feedback.

 

2006 - A major milestone year for us.

 

April - Rolled out iCHOOSE personal leadership workshop.

 

June - Rolled out iORGANISE, a workshop training student leaders to perform team building activities.

 

October - Registered The Absorbent Mind as The Absorbent Mind Pte Ltd.

 

October - February 2007 - We sponsored a nation-wide service learning mentoring project "Project Vibrant Colours". We provided training for 306 youths and supervised the 15 weeks mentoring programme.

 

December - Started subsidiary company Shines Outdoor Pte Ltd, owner of Outdoor Challenge Rope Course located in Upper Boon Keng Road (www.shinesoutdoor.com). Our scope includes the design, building supervision, training of technical officers and the operation of the rope course.

 

2007 - Expanded our training to include Staff Development and Corporate Team Building Training.

 

May - "IMPACT TEACHING" together with our principal partner Education Illustrated, our first professional staff development workshop for trainers and educators.

 

July - Conducted our first Corporate Team Bonding Day for Republic Of Singapore Navy.

 

November - In alignment with our vision of developing leaders, we organised a "Brain-Based Learning" conference. Mr. Eric P Jensen, the leading brain-based learning trainer conducted this professional development conference for trainers, education and human resource development staff.
