Adventure Education Curriculum

"Adventure Is a WAY OF DOING, it is not just an activity in and of itself"
Adventure Curriculum for Physical Education

Adventure Education can be defined as direct, active and engaging learning experiences that involve the whole person and have real consequences. The paradigm shift of the word "ADVENTURE" has resulted in its widespread application in schools around the world. No longer about ziplines, abseils and challenge courses, "Adventure" is now an experience of challenge, surprise and engagement that blends with the elements of success and failure. Through proper framing and setups, adventure activities can be carried out in classrooms or indoor environments with minimum cost!

"Adventure Education is NOT Adventure Recreation"

Adventure Education falls under the umbrella of Experiential Education. Both are processes involving direct and authentic experiences with discoveries and experimentations. They also stress the importance of reflection and processing of experiences. It is distinct from recreation.

The use of adventure activities has grown significantly over the past few years. There is a constant demand to upgrade and better equip teachers with relevant skill sets and knowledge. The upgrading of technical skills has been accelerated with the growth in adventure sports such as sport climbing, mountaineering and abseiling proficiency. And the current needs point to the elevation of activity processing, sequencing and progression abilities.

Adventure Education has moved from outdoor into classroom creating a more engaging, participatory and impactful classroom. Many teachers are exploring it application in classroom as it is aligned to Differentiated Instructions, Brain-Based Learning as well as Multiple Intelligence Approach.

Activities on Shoestring (1-Day)

"No budget for buying props and building elements?"

No Props, No Problem! Welcome to activities on a shoestring. This workshop introduces propless activities that engage and energise your learners. Having a big repertoire of propless activities frequently save the day for facilitators caught in wet weather or situations where props are not available. Beyond learning propless activities, you also learn to add variations to elevate challenge for your learners.
